  1. First time burn VCD, use Acer CDRW 6x4x32, NERO, Windows XP. Can I use CDRW to burn VCD? or only CDW can burn VCD?

I tried to burn a VCD with MPEG-1 VCD format file. After that, it play well with PC but when i put into Standalone VCD Player. The movie very very not smooth. I found out the Sound cause the problem. VCD burned without Sound can play well, but when with sound, the standalone Player seem like can not handle the sound, so cause the video slow and very not smooth.

    What's wrong?
    CDRW can not burn VCD?
    Must use CRW?
Seem many people use NERO, so don't think it is the cause.
I Don't think is the Standalone VCD problem because it can play many other VCD.

First time user here, thanks for help.

    Thanks.

  3. Stand alone VCD players cannot read CDRW disks, but most of them can read CDRs, so burn your VCDs on CDRs and you should be fine.

If you are planning to read them on a DVD player, then do the opposite, i.e. burn them to CDRW. Does not eally matter what software you use; I personally use Nero 5.5 to great effect.

  4. It's also possible that your file is not really VCD compliant.
Where did you get the file?
If you captured it yourself, what HW/SW/method did you use?

You can try remuxing the file with tmpgenc's tools and see if that helps. Or as a last resort, re-encode the audio stream, and remux it with the original video stream. I have to do this to make WinDVR files compatable with standalone players.
