for all my editing I use Video For Windows 1.1, This is a great program for many things such as adding and deleting frames without having to worry about the audio being off, I have used avi chop and found it to be a big pile of crappo! How old is your computer? The only thing that bothers me with this program is that it says my disk is full after 8000-9000 frames, which is fales cause I dedicate 25GB of my hard drive to video alone, what I do in this situation is is break the file into two pieces and then covert it to MPEG-1 format then paste the videos together using MyFlix mpeg video editing software. I am not totally sure if this will help your problem though, it all depends on your computing power, at the moment I am using 500Mhz with 576MB of Ram. If you want Ill be more than happy to email you this program! Scotto

  3. Im guessing its your computer. At least 500mhz and 64-96 of ram should do the job.Now chopping it up into 7 pieces I would do something with the audio.Save the audio as .wav or something, that way you have a good copy of the audio. Then you just chop up the video into the 7 peices.I asume that you save the 7 peices as .avi so what you do is take the audio file and cut the appropriate part for that peice.Say the 2nd peice starts at 12minutes and 32 seconds and ends at 30 minutes and 55 seconds. You cut that out of the wav file and slap em together (multiplex) using VDUB.After you have done this with the 7 pieces you encode them then join them using Tmpgenc or whatever you use to join the mpg's.This might seem time consuming, but seeing that nothing seems to work with big job's,this is easy.

    Again I hope this helps.
