Got a problem, hope someone will have as suggestion as ive tried everything i can think of, bar a format.

All videos play in Black and White, well theres a colour, but more of a tint, and the image resembles a negative at times.
This happens on all players, on avi, mpeg, DVD..

The only programs ive installed since it was last ok, are DVD Shrink, and the AC3 filter.

Anyone any idea? It would be much appreciated.

    Cheers

If you did not have this problem until recently, and if you're using XP, you could give this a try: Start button-->All Programs-->Accessories-->System Tools-->System Restore. Select 'Restore my computer to a previous time', and select a date when you're sure you did not have this problem.
    Hope this helps!

Thanks for the suggestion, i tried it on every restore point i had and still the same.

Strange this as i've never had anything like this before, ive tried re-installing and uninstalling every video/audio codec, virus checked.

Its only a clean install from Monday, but its SP2 im using, which might be the culprit, but i doubt it.

    Try this:
Start-->Run-->type 'dxdiag' and click ok. Click on the display tab. Click on Disable next to Direct Draw Acceleration. Click on Save All Information. Exit.

    Does this help?

    You could also try this:
In Windows Media Player 9, On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Performance tab. In the Video acceleration area, move the slider to turn down or turn off video acceleration.

    Thanks for this suggestions.

Tried them all, no success, so i just re-installed Windows, problem solved.

Then updated my Video card drivers and it came back, so it looks like SP2 and the newest Graphics drivers dont get on, so im just using the ones built into Windows for now, as they do me for my video stuff and i dont play games on the PC anyway.

Thanks anyway, and its probably time i bought a proper Video card anyway.
