I updated my tv capture software from 6.1 (or 6.3 the number escapes me) to 7.1 from the ATI web site whenver I try to record video I recieve an invalid page fault in ATIVRC.DLL then in the background you can see that the recording process had begun but the entire program crashed after I hit close. I have no clue what the problem is, and if I try to downgrade to 6.1 again it will not allow me select cable as my input device only composite and s-video. If anyone could help me fix my problem with 7.1 or tell me how to start recording again with 6.1 I would be very thankful.

Is this problem when recording mpeg2 files? I had this problem with mmc 7.1 and found the only way to ge around it was to choose the ati vcd template hit record then cancel, now choose the mpeg2 template you want then record. Try it, it works for me...

unless you _completely_ uninstalled MMC 6.x (not just use windows uninstall) it could leave pieces behind. so what you might want to try is just to install 7.1 again in a new directory. (or if that doesn't work reinstall 6.3 over itself and 7.1 somewhere else, 7.1 at least should work that way even if 6.3 doesn't) make sure you install the DVD 4.1 update, it helps fix capture bugs too.
