I have been trying to encode an .mpg movie I recorded off my sat. receiver with my video capture card (ATI). It is about 5.0G.
Everytime I use TMPGEnc to encode it, It comes out about 4.053 GB which my burning program (Showbiz) says will not fit on a blank DVD-R. I am using a bit rate of 3800kb/sec and TMPGEnc says it is only 95% of the total disk capacity (<4070 MB).
I am not trying to author or edit anything, just copy to a DVD-R.
So why doesn't this work? Also, the first frame last about 70 seconds after encoding. Any help wouild be appreciated.
thanks,
Jack

Not familiar at all with Showbiz...can you use it to burn Data discs? If so, maybe try to burn the file from TMPGEnc that way (since you're not authoring or editing...)
On a side note...why not set up your ATI card to capture smaller sizes?
