Is there a program that will auto join files?

I have a lot of mpeg, avi and wmv files that I would like to join. They are labelled file1, file2, file3, file4 etc. Is there a video joining software that can search a directory and join files with the same prefix and end in 1,2,3... ? I use TMPGENC to batch encode. Or is there a program that will batch join if I manually add them in to a list? I guess I am too lazy to manually add each file and then wait for each group to be joined.

With TMPGEnc DVD Source Creator, you can join multiple avi, mpeg (don't know about wmv). You just add your clips, set the order you want them in and convert to one file.

Thanks tworonnies TMGENC DVD Source Creator worked great. Although it only works with mpeg and avi, all I had to do was select the first clip of each segment and the program recognized that it was part of a sequence. It then prompted me to select yes or no about joining the sequence. After clicking OK a bunch of times I was able to just walk away from my PC while each group of clips were joined and given unique names. That was exactly the software I was looking for.

Now I can either batch convert my WMV files with TMPGENC Plus or TMPGENC 3 Xpress so that I can join them also.

Yes, Tmpgenc PLUS will also recognize WMV files and opening the first of a numbered sequence will auto-append the rest. Found that out by accident!

If Tmpgenc cannot open the WMV files, then it is a matter of codecs installed and codec priority settings in Tmpgenc settings.
