    Hi,
I am still a newbie at this so am trying to stay with my water wings until i feel more confident. I captured 2.5 hours of filming from a DV camera using Ulead Videostudio 6.0. The resultant avi file is about 37 GB I want to make either a VCD or, preferably, an SVCD so I can get better video quality. Using the Ulead software in the rendering stage I cannot find anywhere that will allow me to made adjustments to the file to try to squeeze the file a bit and make it smaller. I think this would be bitrate or compression? I am actually now sure what I am looking for...but there seems to be nothing to find in this software. Can I do this with Ulead or should I go to TMPGenc. ?

  2. This is from version 7 but I think it's the same in 6:

Go to File -> Project Settings.

Change "Edit File Format" pulldown to "MPEG files"

Press the Edit button at the bottom of the dialog.

    Select the Compression tab.

Select the Media type (NTSC SVCD or whatever).

    Then select your bitrates etc.
