I keep getting an error relating to an mplvpx.dll that could not be loaded by the OS. I have looked everywhere for information relating to the mplvpx.dll but only find stuff about mplapx.dll.
I thought reinstalling WMP9 would work, it didn't. Then I upgraded to the beta WMP10 and that still hasn't corrected the issue. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks for your help.

Hello,
I have two suggestions:
Check www.microsoft.com in the support section if you haven't already.
Also, try doing a net search (yahoo, msn, etc..) for mplvpx.dll and see what pops up. I can't imagine there's NOTHING out there. Believe me, somebody has had a problem similar to yours. Good luck.

I tryed Microsoft's KB. Nothing comes up for "mplvpx.dll."
I've tried Google as well. Nothing of useful help there.
See for yourself:

Hello,
Sorry, just thought I'd mention it anyway. Sometimes we tend to forget easy solutions. I guess yours is a little more involved after all.

Believe me, I don't ask for help unless stumped and this problem has been bugging me for a while.Bleech -
Hello,
Sure. I just thought of something, how long has it been since you've run a virus check?? I remember awhile ago having some anonymous file error popping up. Turns out it was a virus. Could be a similar problem. Just another suggestion, obviously I'm not sure what it could be. Good luck.

just remove the instance from your win.ini file or your startup, then it wont look for it. if everythings working fine, but you get that error, just remove the instances and everything will work fine.

I have Norton Antivirus Corp Edt. latest and greatest defs. They update automatically without my knowledge. Last time I checked the date on them it was 21/7/2004.
I always have Spybot (w/TeaTimer in the background) and Adware running once a week.
I believe I have traced the problem back to a program I install and then uninstalled a while back. It was Ulead. However I don't see why the problem keeps coming back if the program is gone.Bleech -

I suggest you try searching your ulead install disc for that file if you downloaded it try uleads tech support for suggestions. Hope this helps.
Kevin
p.s. Is your ulead directory still intact? IF you find the file try copying into each remaining folder, and windows xp main directory while your at it. It's still looking for that file for some reason (not a clean uninstall perhaps??)Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
I'll try that out when I get home and get back to you on whether that worked or not.
When I uninstall things I have a tendency to do that.Bleech -
