Make sure your hard drive is set to NTFS and not FAT. The latter only has a 4GB limit. Also, how much free space is left on your hard drive.

If I were you I would go ahead and spring for that monster hard drive you've been planning on getting anyway. Make sure it is formatted to NTFS, and keep your original hard drive for system/program files only. The new hard drive will be for video only (capturing, editing, etc). You need more disk space anyway if you plan on pursuing this hobby to any great length.Originally Posted by magheraHello.

Windows XP has a conversion utility that will convert from FAT to NTFS without losing your data. It will take a while to run. A full backup is recommended before running it. Use Start -> Help and Support to bring up the "Help and Suport Center" dialog. Type "Convert" into the Search box and search. You'll then see how to run the program.
