  1. I saved a whole bunch of scanned images from my computer as a slideshow-like VCD program. It is fine and dandy on a DVD player to go through and see the pictures. But, my dad wants to take each image from the VCD and copy them to his computer. He wants to manipulate them into Word docs etc. Please help. The computer I have the original scanned images on is down for the count and it might take some time b4 I get it replaced.

You can right click and hit copy.

Then right click again and hit paste wherever you want to save the files.

You can play the vcd and grab stills with powerdvd. I believe windvd can grab stills too.

As for converting the vcd into an mpeg on your computer, isobuster can do that. Look it up in the guides.

  4. Okay, maybe a little more information would help. My dad does not have a program that will read each individial .vcd file. What program can he use to save and view each individual .vcd file? Could he for instance, just change the extension to .bmp or .jpg etc. and view them that way?

  5. Just open the VCD file in Virtualdub and save individual frames as bmp files. Select a picture by clicking on Home tab followed by right arrow key followed by End tab to select a frame. Click on file -> save as bmp. You will have to do the same for all different pictures and save them individually. Right?
