  1. Hi,

I´m trying to convert some divx movies to svcd and I have the usual sound-sync problem, I have search the forum day and night without any results. The problem I have is that when I´m decompressing the sound it usual works fine but in some cases I find that somewhere in the middle of the movie the audio will lost it sync.

    I have tried following things:

    1.decompress with virtualdub
    2.Scanning with vdub_mp3_freeze
    3.decompress with avi2vcd decommpress
    4.Installing various of codecs

    and I also use WinXP.

    Any suggestions ?`

  2. First, rip the music with virtualdub. (using full-processor-mode - you will find this in the meny system..)

    Select save .wav file

Open TMPGEnc, and load divx movie, and .wav file.
    click movie, and check framerate....
Then load the template you want.
    and select:
If movie 25-rate, select PAL.. something..
    If 23,9... select NTSCFilm,...
    If 29, select NTSC film.

Then you get a large MPEG file...
Cut with MPEG tools.. on the TMPEGEnc menu.

You might get errors... if so, then post them here!
    Yes,... the whole error message!

  3. Thanx, But I know how to make the movie. The problem is that if I encode the movie the sound will be in sync to about half the movie and then it will be out of sync... Some movies works just fine, but others won´t. So all I want is to have the divx movies with uncompressed sound so I will know that it will be in sync when i encode it..

Does the out of sync happen at same place???
Try to chop the file and encode half at a time or 1/4 at a time to put you out of your misery.

When I have had out of Sync with SVCD. I always just go VCD which sometimes helps just to save my sanity?

Are you changing the framerate during encoding? If so you must speed up or slow down your audio proportionally or else you will progressively lose sync.

  8. you can use PWI to extract sound from the *.avi and save it as *.mp2. then, use TmpgEnc---mpeg tools to put them together. don't change the rates during the encoding.
this way worked fine for me, even with ac3 sound track.

    good luck!

  9. I may be teaching my Granny to suck eggs, but are you viewing the finished files on your pc or standalaone dvd, having ripped some to svcd myself I also suffered the irritation of out of sync files when viewing prior to burning, but subsequently found that they played fine on my standalone once burned.

Sorry if this is an insult to your experience but thought it may help.
