  1. CAN I LOWER THE BITRATE USING TMPGE? IF SO HOW CAN I? THEN AFTER I LOWER THE BITRATE, DO I CONVERT IT TO MPEG? THANKS FOR YOUR HELP(I AM NEW SO I AM ASKING TONS OF QUESTIONS!).

  2. First, I assume you want to lower the bit rate to get more movie on each CDR. If so you might want to check out Sefy's template (look under tools in the left column links).

    Second, you can calculate the exact bitrate needed using a bitrate calculator (also under tools). But must encode using CBR (constant bitrate) or 2pass VBR (variable bitrate).

    Third, if the movie is just 'a litlle to big' you can lower the audio from 224k to 192, 160, 128k etc (lower than 128k hurts my ears).

    Lastly, to answer you question. Look in the lower right corner of TMPGenc, you'll see 3 buttons "settings" "load" and "save".
    1) Load - VCD template (or another template), under the standard VCD template the bitrate is greyed out so
    2) Load - the unlock template (normally in templates/extra) and this will unlock all greyed out settings
    3) Settings - lower/raise bitrate, change encoding method, etc. etc.
