I don't know of a guide but its really very simple. Don't use the wizard thing, do it all manually.

Just create a play item for each chapter entry you want. For each one use the same .mps as the source. Leave the first play item alone, this will play from the start to the finish. On the second play item click on the From Start box and entery a time in the box. I usually take the time in secs off the dvd for each chapter, if I don't have this I just use 500 secs. Go through each play item and input the time in secs of each chapter entry. When your done you need to link them all up. open the first play item, for next link it to play item 2. open play item 2 and put next to go to play item 3. Also put previous to go to play item 1. Do this for all the chapter entrys and your done.

For movies that I don't have specific chapter times for I just have a default save file. All I have to do is edit the file in notepad and change the path of the video to my file. Then I just open it up in I-Author and delete any extra play items that I don't need and burn. It saves alot of time.

I know that I-Author got at least as far as version 1.1, I think that might be the last version but I'm not sure.

Personally, I prefer I-Author but I don't think there is any one thing that one program can do that the other can't.
