Which CD-Rs or CD-RWs work best in dvd players? Gold on gold, blue on silver, green on gold, etc? Does that depend on the DVD Player? The CD-RW Drive?
I'm considering the JVC XV-S65GD and have the Plextor 12x10x32x cdrw drive, any suggestions on the media to use?
Thankye

Your assumption that different types of media work best in different brands of DVD players is correct. However, that said, you can choose media that works in a higher percentage of DVD players than others.
I have had very good luck with 74 minute Phthalocyanine (Type 6) media. I think you will have better luck with 74 minute media over 80 minute media. I have a hard time finding them, but I have yet to have anyone who has a player that can read CDR media report that they could not read a disc that I burned onto a 74 minute Cyanine (Type 2) disc (16X Yamaha or Prime Peripherals).
A general rule of thumb that I use is to buy the lighter discs (very light green or light blue). So far, I have had bad luck with the dark blue discs. My player (Pioneer DV-444) plays them fine, but two of my friends have trouble with them.
Considering that some of the first CDR media on the market was the Gold on Gold (Phthalocyanine on a gold reflective layer), it is probably going to work with the highest percentage of players, but it is quite a bit more expensive than cheaper discs on a silver reflective layer).
