  1. I made an xVCD of Evil Dead 2 (which is JUST OVER 74 MINUTES sans credits), but there's a problem. Nero claims the file is to large - it is about 720 meg. However, it burns my 738 meg standard compliant files just fine. I'm using 74 minute discs, since the player I use has problems (who knows why?) with 80 minute discs.

After having this problem, I eventually just re-encoded it as standard and made a 3 disc set - Evil Dead 2, Army of Darkness, then the endings of both (plus a small cache of extras). Still, I would like to know how to fix this worrisome problem in the future. This could mean a difference of 20 minutes...

Is this just a problem with Nero? I've tried a couple other programs, one did the same thing as Nero and the other just keeps crashing. Help me out here.

  2. This is a stab in the dark, but how did you make your "XVCD" files?

Did you remultiplex them with TMPGEnc on the setting "MPEG-1 Video-CD (non-standard)"? If you haven't, it "may" help.

    Regards.

  3. I did not try that, I will the next time I make an xVCD. I made this xVCD by just unlocked the standard PAL VCD template and turning down the bitrate 75 points - since I didn't have to cut it, I didn't think about de/remultiplexing. That was enough to fit it on a single 74 minute disc.
