  1. Ok, I have throughly looked for the answer on this site, and am aware of the rules here.

I asked a question earlier, and unless I'm don't see it, why was the post deleated?

I am trying to connect a external DVD drive to a mac on OS 10.3.4. It worked fine yesterday on 10.3.3 until I updated last night to 10.3.4.

If this is the wrong question for this board, or I am offending someone, please let me know. I'd just like to get some direction on this issue.

    Thanks

My old granddad use to say "If it ain't broke dont't fix it"
Why would you upgrade a working op system?

  3. I did the upgrade to fix some issues w/ airport and printing and was told it would help. I didn't include all the information because I didn't think it was pertient to this issue.

I stated I'm on a mac. If there's a mac section, please give me some information other than what your grandfather said. IF you are on a mac, you'd know the upgrade from os 9 to 10 was one of the best upgrades ever. If your on a PC, I'm sorry. BTW, I work on both platforms but my issue is with the drive on the mac.

Mac ONLY supports installed superdrives, and will not give any information whatsoever - even when the pioneer drives - as I have - is identical to the super drive.

Unless the recent upgrade has eliminated the possiblity of recoginizing a external drive, it can be done because someone on this board was kind enough to provide the information to do it, and have been using the drive succesfully for the last 5 months.

This is the ony reference I see here: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/archive/t211759.html I have a G4, but I converted to an internal Pioneer 104 before I installed Panther. Might want to post in the Mac Video forum, even though somewhat off topic, you would probably get more related answers.
