I was wondering if there are any Final cut users that might be able to help me with what export to use in final cut so that absolutley no degredation happens to my video/audio.
I have to export a file because I needed to fix the picture, it was tilted, and than I want to add black bars to it. But it wont put them right because the bars go to the angle in the direction it has been adjusted. So I have to export than bring it back in to set up the bars. What is the best format? Does dv recompress everytime you export like most programs?
On a side note what is the best way to bring your initial video in? I dont mean firewire I mean in what format.
Thanks

1.If you started with DV in Final Cut then no degeneration will occur,
if you captured from a 4:2:2 source then there will be slight degeneration but not really noticeable.
2.Why dont you just rotate the footage in final cut? Or if you cant do that make up some black bars in Photoshop and mask your footage.
3.No
4. It depends on your source material and what equipment you have at hand of course Broadcast material will always be superior to DV. -
Thanks.
What I am doing is rotating the footage in Final cut but I need a way to add the bars to the top and bottom that wont be affected by the tilt or rotation I've done to the footage. It needs to go off of the screen and not the position of the original video or the bars end up coming in at an angle related to where the original footage is. Hope that makes sense sorry I didnt explain it better. -
Then I would do this in Photoshop and just lay it over the top.
