might try asking in the media forum.
how did the austin powers backup go? did you get it to work? -
yeah it worked great thanks. Compressed it a little bit and could fit some bonus stuff on it. Now to find a menu maker.
Turned out one was normal movie and the other was with Director and Myers talking. I must have done something wrong to make it look like only half the film. -
I have the opposite experience
a tub of 50 - over half failed about half way in
I think the quality is a bit patchy -
i have an NEC 1300A and i had problems with them.. i.e. they would only burn at 2x... as did my mate with the same burner... but other mates they seemed to work fine with...

Shintaro = Princo (DVDInfoPro confirms this). Basically you are paying extra for the same as Princo A-Grade discs. I've started using the Princo instead because I can save around $15-20 per spindle of 50 discs. So far I have created only two coasters - one due to manufactirung problems, one due my own clumsiness.
Locally, while I can by pioneer, tdk etc. in 5 or 10 packs at between $3.50-5.00 per disc, I have found only one distributer who sells anything other than Shintaro/Princo in any quantity (they carry Ritek at around $2.00 disc) Unfortunately, it is an hour round trip to get them. Princo 50 spindles I can get near work for around $65.00.
(Note: all prices quoted in Australian (AUD) $) -
I've been buying the 50-pack spindles of Shintaro from JB Hi Fi - never had a coaster! I haven't heard of Princo...I should shop around more! Cheers Guns1inger for the tip, that sounds like good value!

Melbourne PC (Elizabeth St, just down from Lonsdale St in the city - around the corner from JB's city DVD store) carry PRINCO A-Grade spindles for $65.
