I'm using TMPGEnc 2.521.58.169 and occasionally, I'll get this problem when converting from AVI to MPG. I've checked for bad frames and there are none.

I was running a file, it got about a minute in, then the TMPGEnc preview window went black, the time started counting down from 45 minutes to 0 in about 20 seconds and the conversion was never done. I've tried running it manually, through the wizard, altering settings, nothing works.

Any suggestions? I haven't been able to find any other mentions of this.

  2. I'm experiencing the same problem. It started two days ago for me. I uninstalled the software and reinstalled, still no results.

    Never heard of this problem.

Perhaps if you too give us A LOT of details on your source files we might see that there is a common problem with them.

My guess is the source is at fault here somehow.

As a "last resort" you might want to try loading the AVI into VirtualDub and then frameserve that into TMPGEnc as this sometimes solves such problems.

TMPGENC 2.520 has given me a lot of weird errors recently when encoding MPEG1 files.

It'll hit a certain frame, then encode audio only, with that frame being stuck. Source was fine. Redoing it in another version of TMPGENC was fine.
