I am having problems with the video card, getting the
TV-OUT display correct. The TV-display has terrible
clarity, very "spotty" and snowy, while the PC-monitor
output is near perfect with the same AVI files and
DVD's. I am connecting to my TV set using RCA cord,
which I am connecting to the video cards S-VIDEO out
via a converter. I am using the same connection on a
different computer (ATI-7500) and that outputs perfect
so there is no problem with the connection or cables.

I need to know what settings I should be using for
optimal output to the TV. I have used CLONE, SINGLE
DISPLAY (using TV as output), and HORIZONTAL SPAN, and
all give poor quality on the TV. (please provide
optimal settings for Display/ Settings/ Advanced)

I understand the XP desktop will display poorly, but
the output of VIDEO and DVD should be very clear. I
have used PowerDVD and the MS-Media Player, and both
play very well on the PC-monitor but poorly on the TV

If there is any additional software I could use to impove clarity I would be interested in that as well.

  2. I have almost the same setup; S-Video cable out to S-Video-to-RCA converter($20 dollars for that little bastard!) RCA cable to VCR, and finally, coax out of VCR to television; Absolutlely no complaints, that aren't the TV's fault.

You can find screenshots of my setup here:

Only other things I can suggest are a driver upgrade or you can try tinkering around with TVTool - something I have little experience with, sorry to say.

    Hope this helps.
