AVI fullscreen playback through TV-out

I have an MSI Geforce2 MX-400 with TV-out and it used to be able to playback AVI, DAT and MPEG movies through the TV-out at fullscreen while at the same time the monitor can still be used to do other things (TV playing movie and monitor still on normal windows screen).

Somehow it only works to DAT and MPEG files now and when playing AVI files, the output on the TV would be the same as the monitor. Therefore I cannot use the computer while someone else is watching movies through the TV-out. Does anyone know how to make this multitasking to work again? I'm using MSI DVD (same as PowerDVD) to play the movies.
