I am doing a presentation on PP about a set of dvds I have. I have converted them to VCD, then used TMPGEnc PLUS to create clips with a .mpg extention.
Power point will not accept the clips or the orignal 700MB vcd file, if I drag the clip into PP, it will show the icon, but wont run when you try to view the presentation.
Any ideas how to fix this, or what I can convert my DVDs too that will be accepted by PP, cheers.

Try converting them to .wmv. Use the windows media encoder that you can download for free from the MS website.

Powerpoint should play MPEG-1 no problem. Ensure that they have not been converted to .dat files and they are still .mpg files. Check the custom animation and make sure the "object" is selected to play. Sometimes you have to click or you can give it a few seconds. Play around with that and see what happens.
