    Hi,

    I bought a LG 4040 last December, it suddenly do not see any DVD movies or DVD Blanks, ie I put it DVD movies (Spy Kids 2 and Bee Gees Live) and Windows XP report no disk in drive when I try to play it with Power DVD and then I put in Maxell 4X DVD-R and DVD indentifier report no disk in drive.

    Music CD is ok ie it can play the CD.

    Is the drive faulty? TIA

    Have you changed your firmware or setup lately this is slightly strange that cds are being read is DMA enabled

    No, it was burning fine until last saturday, 5 Maxell 4X DVD-R coasters due to "tracking servo failure" reported by Alcohol 120 and then on Sunday it failed to read or write DVD, it simply report there was no disks in drive, it'll see CD tho.

    DMA is always enabled.
