I am new to this, so I appreciate any help.

I have the LG CD RW CED8080B burner on my PC that can write up to 8x speed. Since my standalone DVD players didn't recognize my VCD created by Nero 5.5 which I wrote to CD-R or EZ CD Creator 5 Platinum, I figured I needed to write to CD-RW. I bought a 5 pack of 4x-10x discs. When I tried to burn the VCD on the EZ CD creator, the write speed appeared as 2x only, and the app kept ejecting the disc as unwriteable.

Why does the speed slow down to only 2x, and does that mean I have to buy lower speed cd-rw media to make this work?

I also cannot use this combination with other apps within EZ CD Creator 5 Platinum.
    Thanks.

  2. Most CD-RW drives will burn slower when using CD-RW media, CD-R will be quicker.
If your drive was, for example, 12x/6x/4x, this means it reads CD's at 12X, writes CD-R at 6X and writes CD-RW at 4X.

    hope this helps

Thanks. The slower format is compatible, and I can now write. Thanks!
