Hello,
I have some divx movies that are in 29.97fps, and they are clearly jittery since what's in them *cough* enterprise *cough* is supposed to be 23.976fps.
I opened one of them in tmpegenc and ran the inverse telecine filter ( IVTC ) to convert it from 30 to 24 and used the auto setting and progressive frames. took about 6min to scan through and then i re-encoded it to an mpeg 1 at about 500kbit. Now it looks great, and smooth.
However, I was thinking. Since i'm encoding something that is already really compressed, is there a way to remove all of those duplicated 4th frames from the divx avi stream without encoding the file again?
Oh ya, i used virtuadub to extraxt the audio to a wav file before encoding the video with tmpegenc.
