  1. I'm new to the dvd-r scene, and a buddy of mine just purchase these hypermedia 4x dvd-r's.

How do I find if these dvd-r's have any errors on them using dvdinfo pro?
As well, I know different media codes mean alot, but I'm unsure which are good bad? Could anyone direct me to a link?

This isn't exactly an answer to your question, but....

I received a 25 pack spindle of KHypermedia 4X DVD-R's for free with my Lite-On LDW-811S 3 weeks ago. I've backed up at least 6 movies and haven't had any problems. Now I'm still a newbie at this, but that's my experience. I've read on this website some negative comments about them, but heck, they were free!

    Here's a link to DVDRhelp's info/review:

    Good luck!
