    What media are certified to work with this drive preferable at 4x.
    My Sony DRX-500UL just died and I am looking for a nother drive not as picky on media as the Sony is.

    There is nothing on my original box recommending a certain brand. It came with a Maxell DVD RAM disc. I use Ritek(- and +) Benq (+) and recently Primeon (- that turned out to be Ritek G04's).....not a coaster yet.

    The LG GSA-4040B owners manual recommends:

    DVD-R:Pioneer, Fujifilm, Maxell and TDK
    DVD+R:Taiyo Yuden, and Ricoh
    DVD-RW: JVC, Mitsubishi Chemical and Pioneer
    DVD+RW:Ricoh, and Mitsubishi Chemical
    DVD-RAM:Maxell and Panasonic
    Just shut up and listen dumbass
