OK, ive been trying my darndest to make VCD's for along time, and have ruined many CD's along the way,
i have a crappy maxtor DVD drive,
that supports CD-R(W), DVD-R, VCD, and SVCD

when i burn VCD's with nero, it doesnt complain about anything, the only problem i do see is it never has NEVER once given me the duration of the video, so ok, thats the first problem, any ideas?

then i burn it, quite successfully, can watch the DAT quite happily on media player but NOT my DVD drive

now, when i have copied VCD's in the past, they work perfectly on the DVD, thus suggesting it does allow CD-R's

but the one major thing i have noticed is this.....

on nero vcd's its structure is like this

/CDI
/EXT
/MPEGAV
the mpeg being called AVSEQ01.dat
/SEGMENT
/VCD

but on all the VCD's i own
they are

/CDDA
/CDI
/EXT
/KARAOKE
/MPEGAV
the dat is called MUSIC01.DAT on all of them
/SEGMENT
/VCD

i have been able to get a very odd film on VCD once
it played the first 10 seconds, really fast
then paused the frame, the audio kept going,
then the video resumed with the audio but went really really slowly,
then paused again, but 9/10 its just a big , black, screen

am i the *only* person that cant seem to burn VCD's!?!?
