Hi,
I'm getting a squashed picture when I encode a DV file at 480x576 for an XVCD I'm trying to make. (It's fine at normal resolution)
Can anyone help with the settings of TMPGEnc so it won't be squashed?
Thanks!

What's normal resolution? What's the source? How are you resizing it in TMPGenc (center, full screen keep aspect ratio, center custom, etc).

Hi,
The source is a DV (from a digital 8 video camera)I think the res is 720x576 (from memeory, sorry I'm at work at the moment so I can't double check. I think it's the same as DVD).
I just used the PAL VCD template & changed the resolution to 480x576 (same as SVCD (SVCDs won't work on my DVD Player) and the bitrate to 1500kbp.
I think it was set to 'Full screen keep aspect ratio' as this is the default. Is this what I need to change?
What's the best setting?
thanks!

PS. The DV file is full screen (full frame) & the encoded file is vert squashed & now has black bars at the top & bottom
