    Can you burn a divx file to a cd and make a stand alone DVD player show it on screen? If so, how?

    Real Sorry, But no, you have to encode it to VCD or SVCD to play on a Home DVD player and since divx is a hacked version of microsoft's MPEG4, don't look real soon any time for someone to come out with one, no doubt they would be sued by microsoft.
