  1. I searched this place to get an answer, but I didn't find any so now I'm asking... Since you can fit 800MB on a regular 80-Min/700MB record with mode 2 burning, I suppose you can burn more than 800MB on a 90-min record too... But how much more? Is it 100MB+ with those ones too?

And how do I know if my computer will accept those discs (both viewing and burning since I'll view my svcds on the computer and not in a dvd-player)? I have a new TDK Cyclone 48x burner...

    Anyone that can help me?

  2. the rule of thumb for compliant SVCD video at 44.1 mhz is 35-40 minutes. Guessing with the 90, another incremental 5 or so minutes. You can always fit more, but then you have to lower the bit rate.

Hmm ok... Thanks for the answer... But if I just know that the total size of the videos is 870MB (I haven't downloaded them yet... so I don't know the minutes..) Will they fit on a 90-Min then, with mode 2 burning? If it's the same "formula" as with 80-Min/700MByte discs I should be able to get in around 900Mb of SVCD-movies on one of those 90-min discs right? Or am I completely wrong?!

  4. Sounds solid to me. I would think that a 90minute cd would hold 900mb in mode 2, and a 99min would hold 990mb in mode 2.

About whether you can burn them or not, and read them or not.. I don't know. I've never tried it.
