  1. hi. i was wondering, what is the best svcd...author and burn program...out there, besides nero. since nero takes forever to do this.
Also, how do i split the movie after encoding it with tmpgenc to fit on svcd, since i know it will not all fit on one cd?

  2. vcd easy does svcd's, i used to use it for vcd's before i moved on to dvd's and the results i got were pretty good. If you want to split the size of your file down to go onto seperate discs you can use merge&cut in the mpeg tools section of Tmpeg and just cut the sections like that, if i'd have been doing it i would have set the range different in the encoding process and encoded several different files (which were frame accurate) instead of cutting it up.....but cutting should work ok.
I could dance with you till the cows came home..... on second thoughts i'd rather dance with the cows till you came home.

You might try DVD2SVCD. It does all that automatically and generates a image file that NERO or many other programs can burn. It's freeware. Check the 'Tools' to the left.

  5. In TMPGEnc on the bottom right there are 3 buttons, the first one says setting, click this then on that screen you get several tabs to choose from, select advanced then source range and you can actually set exactly what section of your file you want to encode. There are also some other good settings on this page too for cropping/clipping or adding new borders and stuff to your file and colour correction etc:-
