I have created a menu for my VCD using a picture of the film, how do i get the film to play directly after the menu appears?
I usually have to press 1 but would rather have it just start to play straight away.
    Any ideas?

PS. Using Nero to create the menus

  2. Nero's implimentation of menus for VCD is whack at best, older vers didnt even support it.

You need Adaptec EZ-CD creator, search the web for some menu tuturials, I think this forum has a link, I dont have mine anymore. You can do the menu the way your want! However, I dont think theres a way to skip the menu, it would require you not use a menu, menu will always (AFAIK) be the default item to "boot".

    Good luck!

Well vested in the following: Pinnical DC-10+, TMPGEnc, AVI_IO, VirtualDub, Flask, BBMpeg, SmartRipper, DVD2AVI

  3. If it's just a still picture, you can set it to be displayed for time X, then have your movie as the 2nd track to play after it.

  4. Similar to what Vejita-sama said:

Use a still image as your main menu (and I mean a real still image, not a short video clip) and set it as a <selection>.

You can then set all the normal things with a menu (e.g., pressing "1" goes to this and pressing "2" goes to that).

Set the <wait> tag to some finite amount (e.g., 60 seconds) and set the <timeout> tag to link to your first chapter or the beginning of the movie.

Thus, the menu will display for a minute and if no user interaction has been given, it will automatically start the movie.

BTW, all the terminology I used in the above were for VCDImager -- but the idea is the same for any of the proggies that can do real VCD Authoring (e.g., VideoPack 4 and VCD Toolkit).

    Regards.

Give Nero up and use TSCV. What you want is an intro not a menu. Nero can't do that. TSCV can.

I only dream in black & white...

    Cheers for all the replies.

One thing, Dhruv, what is TSCV?

  7. go to http://www.ttool.de

look for the new version of tscv, it comes with vcd imager, and some other things

    then go to

    http://www.personal.psu.edu/users/r/d/rdm186/

i made guides how to use it

you can do chapters, menus, whatever you want

for your case, you just make an intro mpg, and right after its done, the movie will play

i have a personal logo i made as mine, then it goes right into the menu, from there to chapters or the movie

you can make it however you want
