Xvid problem

so i recently encoded a video using the Xvid encoder. after it was done, i skipped through the video using the timeline marker, but everytime i do so, it pauses for like 5 seconds, then the video speeds up really quickly in order to re-sync with the audio. i've noticed it doesn't do this with other videos encoded in Xvid. pls help.

Sounds normal to me. My computer does this with almost all XviD and DivX movies. I'm not sure why, though, probably because the decoding is pretty hard on the processor.
