  1. Every time I try to do anything in it is says DVD-Video plug-in required. I went to Nero's web site and it says it is in the Nero 6 Ultra Suite. I have it installed and registered. I have done the upgrade from a previous ver of 6, and have completely uninstalled and reinstalled it and it still does not work. It is completely registered and everything so I don’t know what the problem is. It is really getting frustrating cause I don’t know what else to do. Anyone know how I can fix this? Any help is appreciated.

  2. Did you run NeroVison Express at least once? To make sure it is registered properly?

  3. Yes, I did run it and it is registered. Also if I go to Make CD > other video formats it gives the same Plug-in error.

  4. The problem maybe your serial...

I too had the problem. I don't use Nero 6.3 Ultimate Suite for any of my DVD buring, but use Nero v5.5.10.54 instead. I like the old interface better, but wanted to install just Nero Recode 2 for DVD editing. Nero Recode 2 is part of Package #2 containg NeroVision Express, Nero Recode 2, and Nero Showtime.

The first time I installed Package #2, I got the DVD-Video error. I did a couple reinstalls including installing Nero v6.3 over Nero v5.5.10.54, but kept on getting the same message. I decided to go back to my old Nero and try installling Package #2 with ANOTHER serial (my friend's). The serial is for Nero v6.0.0.28 and it works for the new NeroVision Express v2.1.0.3!

The DVD-Video plugin is already included in NeroVision Express (Package #2), but can't be activated unless you have a working serial.

I use Nero v5.5.10.54 for DVD burning and NeroVision Express v2.1.0.3 (with Nero Recode 2) for DVD editing.

I've got the same problem and been down the same deinstall, reinstall path to no avail. You can get into Recode by going via StartSmart. This will get you in without the DVD Video plug in error. Unfortunately that is not the end of my troubles though. Once in there I cannot get the video preview window to work at all. I think it is probably related. Can you see if you can get the preview window to work? Just try importing a DVD. It should import OK but I will be interested to know if the preview works for you. If not then I'm pretty sure the two problems are related and fixing one will fix both.

  7. I've read on another forum that lots of people are having this problem.

Make sure you get the Demo mode prompt for NeroVision Express. I think the serial has to be entered in NeroVision Express, as oppose to Nero Burning Rom. Once you get the Demo prompt for NeroVision Express, you should be able to enter in a serial.

After this, you should be able to use Nero Recode 2 with all the plugins.

  8. SydneyGuy: I have not tried to see if the preview will work yet. I have just uninstalled again and wiped out everything and went through the registry and removed all that I could find related to ahead. Once I reinstall later I will see how far I can get then will post again.

It sounds like some people have download BOGUS Keys from the net. Eg: "I have tried other keys" If you use a Valid Key from the purchased Nero everything works OK. They made a change, I think in .23 that disabled all Bootleg keys for Previous versions that floated the NET. That is a problem Using Bogus keys Periodically the Companies disable them. Microsoft does it all the time. Download a new update and the software no longer works.

This is not a Slur Towards anyone in particular but, This Forum isn't a Place to discuss "I am using A bogus Copy of XXXX software and it doesn't work anymore"

    Also some OEM Won't work

    From NERO's Web.

    1. Who is qualified for the Nero PowerPack?

Everyone who has bought the Nero 6 Ultra Edition serial number or retail box is qualified for the Nero PowerPack.

Customers who have our OEM versions suite 1 and 2 will not qualify for the free download. OEM suite 3 users will qualify for the download but NOT for the free PowerPack Lame MP3 encoder.
