  1. I'm trying to burn an SVCD after converting the movie file to MPEG from a VOB file. Both, the MPEG file and VOB file have audio in AC3 format. I've tried to burn with Nero and I get no sound, just the video, I also tried to do it with Ulead DVD Movie Factory 2 but I get an error message telling me the AC3 format is not supported by their software, I finally tried Roxio and I pretty much get the same messaage I got with Ulead. Is there any way to convert the AC3 file into a different format?

  2. SVCD does not support Ac3 audio, only mp2. To convert the audio to mp2 you can use BeSweet or Headac3he. For both the audio has to be de-multiplexed from the video and converted seperatley, the the new mp2 audio file re-multiplexed with the video. You can use TmpGenc mpeg tools to do this.

I have used HeadAC3He before to convert AC3 to WAV and it is very intuitive. You could convert to mp2 and then multiplex as explained by bugster using TMPGEnc.
    If in doubt, Google it.
