  1. I have a .avi movie fle that I want to make into a VCD. Usually I use Nero without any problems but for some reason, near the end of the burning process Nero crashes with this file. I'd like to try this with another easy to use VCD maker just for this one file, could anyone recommend any good and easy demo or freeware software I could use?

    thanks!!!

    virtualdub(free) to extract the audio

tmpgenc(free for vcd's) to encode the movie

    burn with nero.

  3. As Treebeard obviously knows well, it's best not to feed TMPGEnc compressed audio. You could also use the decompressor in AVI2VCD, free and works fine. (Virtualdub can be daunting if you haven't used it before.) VCDEasy, freeware version still available, can do the burn for you in case it's Nero that's the problem.

Maybe FOO's right. How come so many people have problems and all just happen to be using Nero? Fancy that.

  4. I am sure you meant its best not to feed TMPGEnc compressed audio

It can handle compressed audio providing it is CBR.
