  1. Since upgrading my edit system to Premiere 6, I have not been able to access the Panasonic mpeg encoder.
I emailed the company and they sent me the following:

"The current version may work with V6.0. However, we cannot guarantee it because we have not yet finished QA test yet. Please use it at your own risk.

If you have already installed other mpeg plug-in
    please uninstall it.
Premiere gives the same plug-in name MPEG to plug-in. This is the rule of designing for plug-in by Adobe.
This means both plug-ins has same plug-in name, therefore, sometimes they may conflict each other."
    End message.

This raises for me question of a reliable and quality MPEG encoder for Premiere V6.0

    Any suggestions gratefully recieved.

    Tony

  2. It's a little bit difficult to know what's happened since you've installed Premiere 6...

My advice? Uninstall the Panasonic MPEG Encoder. Uninstall Premiere 6. Go to the Programs/Adobe folder and make sure that Premiere 5 (or any of its folders) aren't lurking around anywhere. If they are, delete them (or if you are skittish about doing this, re-installing Premiere 5 and then immediate uninstall it).

Now, with a "clean" slate, reinstall Premiere 6 and reinstall the Panasonic MPEG Encoder plugin. From memory, Adobe tends to leave previous versions of the same software alone (at least this is true with Photoshop) and installs a never version in its own folder. I don't know if it automatically migrates previous installed plug-ins but it wouldn't surprise me if it didn't (which could be your problem).

    Regards.
