I was backing up the new matrix movie. i had to compress it so it would fit on one dvd. i did that with dvd shrink taking out everything except the movie itself. i then backed up the movie to dvd. The movie looks great until almost the end then it starts skipping and then finally just stops before the end of the movie. I backed up The Big Lebowski, funny movie by the way, and the same thing happens. Any idea of how to prevent this. I thought these backups came out ok until I put one in and let it play to check it. I don't get any errors when backing up. Thanks for the help. I am very new to this.

The only time I have ever had that problem it was bad media and in my case Verbatim 4X DVD-R.

I have used sony dvd-r and tdk dvd-r 2x and burned at 2x. It is only the last part of the backup.

Well there in nothing bad about Sony or TDK media so then thats not the problem. The next suspect in my list would be your DVD player so try the disc in another player and on your computer using WinDVD or PowerDVD. Also maybe your player like DVD+R better than DVD-R so if your burner does both try burning the same files with a DVD+R disc. Finally I doubt there is a problem with the DVD files or DVDshrink since in my experience it has never failed me.Originally Posted by abutment

BTW I assume you're putting all the DVDshrink files into a "VIDEO_TS" folder then burning that folder and are closing or finalizing the discs when the burn is complete. I use RecordNow Max to do all my DVDR burns. If you're using Nero I understand there may be some UDF settings that may need to be adjusted to make the DVD'S more compatible with DVD players. -
90% of the time it is the end. You have to use discs that match your burner. You could also try dropping your destination size to <4.3G.
Download CD Speed.

Do a Transfer/read test on a burned disc and look for a nice clean line with no dips at the end. Find discs to use that read clean.
