I use DVD2AVI so that TMPGEnc can read DVD files that I want to encode to MPEG-2. DVD2AVI gives me the D2V file and the audio of the movie. The audio is in a wave format. If I converted the file from wave to MP2, would it take up less space on the disc. If so what do I need to do to convert the file.

Yes.

You can also convert to mp2 audio using tmpgenc, select the wav as source audio.
