  1. here's my problem:

everytime i try to burn an SVCD i can't get it to play back correctly. after it is done burning the image i put it in my dvd-rom to play back with PowerDVD and it says "A disc with unsupported format in drive D:". if i try to play it back with Elecard MPEG2 Player the file will just open and freeze. if i try to open the MPG file with Windows Media Player the file will just open and then pixels will just scramble all over the place and the running time just speeds up at an unregular pace.

Regular VCD's play back with no problem. i've also tried playing it in my pioneer dv-333 (which used to work fine) and it just ejects the disc after trying to load. that's a whole other problem though so we won't get into that.

all i want to do is to be able to play back my SVCD movies without any problems. i don't want these pixels, i don't want these error messages, i don't want any lime green screens. does anybody have a simple solution for me? please help!!! thanks in advance.

  2. Not sure what programs you are using to burn the SVCD disk..that might be helpful in answering your question...

However, I recommed using TMPGenc for encoding and VCDeasy for burning VCD and SVCDs....

I never could get PowerDVD to play SVCDs. I'd always have to do a file/open to play the thing.

That's what I do, use explorer to browse to the mpeg directory and drag n' drop the mpeg into PowerDVD.

  8. yea use avicodec and make sure it is in the right format.... mpeg2 video i believe and mpeg 1 layer-2 audio...

i would then trry to uninstall any and all mpeg2 (svcd) codecs...then install ONE ..like elecard... and then try it in a couple diff players....

THats what i did and it plays fine in WMP..but not BSPlayer.....
