elongated svcd

when i play my svcd using my dvd player, the picturei s slightly elongated/stretched vertically.

im using tmpgenc to convert my avis to mepgs, and even using 16:9 display and/or 16:9 525 line (NTSC) ratios, the result are exactly the same.

is your TV 4:3?
is it a standard svcd or vcd header trick?

yes, my tv is 4:3 display NTSC.

Did you set the output to 4:3 on the video tab? SVCDs do not support a 16:9 aspect ratio. Other than that I assume you used a compliant resolution of either 480x480 or 480x576. Also you should set the video arrange method on the advanced tab to fullscreen (keep aspect ratio.)

I recommend in Video Arrange Method: Full Screen (Keep Aspect Ratio 2)... less black space on a 4:3.
