How can I put a second audio track on VCD?. I'm making karaoke VCD and need to have the option of the song with singer and without singer.
I've seen this in some comercial karaoke VCD.
    I'm actually encoding with TMPGEnc.
    Thanks in advance

VCDs only support one stereo audio track. If you wanted two separate streams you would have to encode one as L and one as R, each mono, and then just switch between the different channels during playback. Not exactly ideal.

Actual Karoake disks support more than 1 audio channel, and work differently than VCDs.

The closest you could have to making such a disk would probably be to make a SVCD which supports both multiple stereo audio tracks as well as soft encoded subtitles which are common on karoake disks.

  3. I agree with adam but if you must make a VCD then I would use Audacity to make a stereo wav out of 2 mono tracks then use TMPGEnc to encode.

Your best bet would be use a wav editor, something like Cool Edit or a NLE like Adobe Premiere. These programs let you add each audio track as either L or R. You will then export the wav in stereo and then encode it to mp2 (mpeg audio.) When you encode you should maybe consider using dual channel encoding. This is often used when the data from one channel is completely independant from the other.

Its just a matter of having the right software. Most wav editors should work.

There is a way of adding a "second" audio track into VCDs, if you convert from a DVD to VCD for example, you would have to obtain 2 tracks, convert them into mono PCM wave streams.

To combine the two mono audio tracks together I would use a program called Multiquence. Once you have tht program up and running then you will be able to add your audio files (tracks) into separate channels.

In Multiquence you will need to make 2 tracks (one for your main track and the second for the other track), add your audio files into the tracks. Then you will have to right-click on the track and select "section options" and in the pop-up where it says "Output Channel" select either Left or right, cos if you select stereo for both tracks, they will both play when you select the left or the right channel.

Save the wav file and your done.
