  1. Hi
I created an Mpeg1 file (VCD format) on my pc and then burnt it to a CD using the XP operating system.
When i play it in a DVD player or on my PC, the result is really bad. Theses glitches and stutters and is not nice to watch.

I have a PIII 700Mhz PC with onboard graphics. I accept this is far from an ideal machine. Is the problem with the PC, the burner (sony) or the software ?

  2. It sounds like you've not authored the disc as a VCD - I think XP's native CD-burning functions will just burn as a data (ISO) disc.

You may find your DVD player would respond better to having the disc properly authored.

You can use VCDEasy to author the disc - it can either create a disc image, which you can then burn with something like Nero (or other burning apps); or you can actually burn from VCDEasy if you have the right drivers installed (ASPI drivers available free in the tools section).

Does the MPEG-1 file play okay on your PC?

How did you create your MPEG?

    cheers,
    mcdruid.
