  1. Hi everybody,

my first try to create a SVCD failed and I donīt know why

    Here is what I did:

1.) Captured some analog/digital footage with Miro DC30/Firewire card.

2.) Used TMPGenc (latest version 2.00.something) to convert to SVCD using the PAL SVCD template.
These files playback fine via any kind of software player!

3.) Burned the SVCD with nero 5.5.something to a CD-RW just like it is described on VCDHELP.COM.

4.) Trying to playback the SVCD with any kind of software player gives the "class not registered" error.
I donīt have any hardware player (considering to buy one, thatīs why Iīm trying this SVCD thing).

    Any Ideas?

    Thanks,
    Joerg

Same result on computer DVD ROM player and on cdrom. Could it be the CD-RW? Should I try a CDR?

    Thanks,

    Hi RaleighNC or Baldrick,

Iīm glad to say: You were right. I was not aware of how old my DVD player software was. I downloaded the windvd trial and this could show my SVCD. Thanks again,
    Joerg
