i tried to burn a music video that i have into a vcd using tmpge. when i watch it on my dvd player the quality looks blocky. the video looks real good but i dont know what to do or use to make it look better? please help

i think because you are encoding it to VCD format its making it blocky, try doing the same but for a SVCD... you will notice the difference.

whats a svcd? is it a cdr or a dvd+r? i tried reading the articles but still dont get it?

an svcd is mpeg2 compilant.... you can use encode your video to SVCD, and then burn the svcd on to a cd-r... it's just like a vcd but better quality... you are using tmpgenc, just when you start at the left of the program choose (PAL or NTSC whichever one applies to you) and make sure it is in the 'SVCD' section.

SVCD looks better but you get 55% less video on a CD(depending on bitrate),make sure your DVD player supports SVCD first.
