  1. I am new but learning fast about coverting DVD to SVCD. I was wondering if someone could give me some tips on what success they have had with setting adjustments using TMPGEnc. I don't care about sound or time, just video quality. What are some of the settings in the tabs that I should adjust in order to obtain the best video quality from a Divx? Will higher bitrate improve quality but slow the encoding process automatically?

And if possible, what may I do (setting wise) to speed it up alittle without sacrificing too much quality?

    Thanks

Using a higher bit rate decreases the encoding time. Just use the bitrate calculators on this site to work out the bitrate settings. Set the motion search to the highest quality if you are not concerned about encoding time. To speed up the encoding time a little, without sacrifing too much quality, set the motion search to the second highest quality setting. You will really have to find the other settings for yourself as each of us has a different set of circumstances - Just encode small clips of your video, using different settings, to CDRW and judge for yourself.
Oh yeah... use the newest version of TMPEG - v2.0
