  1. Does anyone know how to avoid the annoying "analyzing" step in TMPGEnc, when converting in VBR (variable bit rate) mode? It is basically a pain in the ass having to wait 8-9 hours for a simulation and THEN 8-9 more to actually convert.

    Thanks!

The "analyzing" is the first pass of the 2-pass encode. The only way to avoid it is not to use it, like Foo suggested.

How do you avoid the ANALYZING in a 2-pass VBR ...

    Don't do a 2-pass VBR

  9. Well, when I set up TMPGEnc according to one of the guides on this site (for high quality conversion), my 90min Hi-8 tape which had become a 16gb avi, TMP wanted to take 20 hours to convert using 2 pass VBR using an athlon 2400!!
