I have sent an email to Hauppauge to ask the official opinion on whether or not this will work. They have not yet answered, but if they do I will post their reply here. If anyone knows more, please feel free to comment here.

I live in Canada, and I am a Bell ExpressVu digital satellite subscriber. Aparently this system is on the
Nimiq 1 satellite and uses nagravision. Can anyone agree/disagree? http://www.lyngsat.com/nimiq1.shtml
If I were to buy the WinTV-DVBs from Hauppauge with the "Common Interface Expansion" card and use my Bell Expressvu decoder card in it, would I be able to rip mpeg2 streams directly to my PC's hard drive without recompressing? I am trying to avoid the analog capture and recompress stage which invariably results in quality loss.
Bell's webpage claims 100% Mpeg2/DVB compliance, and aparently the WinTV-DVBs supports nagravision.
Can anyone add some thoughts on if this setup will work?
If not, is what I want to do even possible?

I'd be curious in knowing this as well as I too have an Expressvu receiver. Only problem that I can see arising would be that we're on the NTSC system and they advertise the card for PAL Europe only.
