  1. ok, thanks to that menu guide posted earlier I was able to make my first vcd menu title screen plus index screen

it works quite well, only trouble is that the images I used do not fit on my TV.

    setup: ntsc mpeg 352x240
    2 stills (bmp) 352x240 (72dpi)
    1 wav (5 sec silence)
-> made 2 mpgs with tmpeg

on TV the menu stills are too big. left, right, top, bottom get cropped by approx 20 pixel.
    (it's a PAL/NTSC 16:9 TV)

Q: what size do my stills need to be to fit correctly on the TV Screen? Or what setting in tmpeg do I have to use to make them fit?

    Thanks

  2. TV screens crop off the edges of the image no matter what size the original. If you watch a TV show with titles and graphics such as a sports or weather report on your computer, you'll notice they leave a lot of space around the edge of the screen so the text is not cut off.

It is not the size of the stills you need to adjust, but the position of the text in your stills. See where your existing menus are getting cut off as a guide and adjust your text to fit within that area.
